February
We have passed the 100th day in school! What's in store for Mrs. D's 4th graders this month?
- Math: We have finished Unit 5 and will have a test on Wednesday, February 7.
- Reading: We are reading novels in class. Each student is reading one of the following books: Mr. Popper's Penguins, Because of Winn Dixie, or Sign of the Beaver. Homework this week will involve reading in our classroom anthology and answering questions modeled on the types of questions we will be seeing on the CMT's in March.
- Science: We have been studying Electricity in the Science lab with Mr. Meehan.
- Writing: We have been exploring different ways to begin a narrative piece. We will be completing a new piece before the winter break. In addition, we are having fun with The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, and writing in our journals. This week we will write poems about our courtyard tree if the temperature rises above 20 degrees!
- Social Studies: Test on Wednesday, February 7.
- Spelling: No new list this week, due to the extra reading homework.
Coming Up... Pajama Day on Friday, February 9th!!!
